The 16th century town of Poggioreale in the Belice Valley region of the Sicilian countryside experienced an earthquake in 1968. The town was declared uninhabitable and a new town was built by the Italian government for the citizens. These are photos from my two visits 20 years apart first in 1999 and then in 2019.
